Barrows is a rewarding, challenging, yet very dangerous part of RuneScape (members only), that should not be attempted with less than 43 prayer, or 59 hitpoints. The basic concept is that you fight five legendary brothers in their crypts in Morytania, then enter into the underground tunnels where a sixth brother must be found. Once you have killed him you proceed to a locked door where you must solve a puzzle to reach a treasure chest that contains items varying from mind runes to the very powerful Barrows armour and weapons. These equipment sets are some of the most sought-after rewards in all of Runescape.

Completed the Priest in Peril Quest. At least started the Nature Spirit Quest.

The rewards you get from opening the chest vary every time. Rare items you can get from the brothers are half keys, dragon medium helmets, or Barrows equipment. Regular drops include runes, bolt racks, and gp. Bolt racks are used for Karil's crossbow, and can also be bought on the docks in Port Phasmatys. Find the non-ghostly guy dressed in red and a samurai sword. He sells bolt racks for 50gp if the store is fully stocked. However the most sought-after items are the different types of Barrows equipment which are explained below. They have better stats than other types of Armour as well as special effects when a complete set is worn. It is possible to get more than one rare item from a chest, and it is possible to get more than one equipment item from the same brother from a chest.
